When is the Lord coming back -Daniel 12 PDF Print E-mail
Written by Pastor Martin

Dear Theophilus,

I would appreciate your thoughts.

I was in a period of time when I was reading the word a lot.

Eg I read the king James in 7 days, then the amplified then the New American Standard etc.. averaging a complete bible every 14 days.

It started when I was reading through Daniel and had reached the point where it was said that the end would be in time, times and half a time.(Daniel l2:1-7)

I carried on reading saying to myself ‘I’m not going to try and work that out’.

As I was reading the Lord said to me ‘Martin, I want you to work it out’

Verse 9 says Daniel 12:9  9 He said, "Go your way, Daniel, for these words are concealed and sealed up until the end time. Well, we’re in the end times, so I wondered if the Lord wanted to reveal it now. It seemed to me that ‘time, times and half a time’ was a simple mathematical equation. The end was to be in 2.5 periods of time. This makes it quite interesting because you don’t know which time periods to exclude until they’ve gone past. Eg. 2.5days, 2.5 weeks, 2.5 years, 2.5 decades, 2.5 centuries 2.5 millennium, 2.5 (not sure what the next time period would be) The only problem here is that although the book of Daniel was written around 500BC there are not accurate dates.  So if it is 2.5 millennium then that would take it to around the period we are in. I also think that the Lord hid the answer to this simple equation in 2 Peter. The key, the time period, was hidden in the other side of the bible, whilst talking about the end.

2 Peter 3:8-10   But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day.  9 The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.  10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and its works will be burned up.

I then started looking at the rest of Daniel 12:

Daniel 12:9-13   He said, "Go your way, Daniel, for these words are concealed and sealed up until the end time.  10 "Many will be purged, purified and refined, but the wicked will act wickedly; and none of the wicked will understand, but those who have insight will understand.  11 "From the time that the regular sacrifice is abolished and the abomination of desolation is set up, there will be 1,290 days.  12 "How blessed is he who keeps waiting and attains to the 1,335 days!  13 "But as for you, go your way to the end; then you will enter into rest and rise again for your allotted portion at the end of the age."  First of all I started to check up on the abomination of desolation and in Matthew and Mark there was a word ‘standing’ that I decided to scrutinize in the greek. Mark 13:14  But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains: Matthew 24:15   When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) It was the word ‘histemi’ and could be used for the foundation of a building according to Strongs dictionary. 476 i[sthmi histemi {his'-tay-mee} Meaning:  1) to cause or make to stand, to place, put, set 1a) to bid to stand by, [set up] 1a1) in the presence of others, in the midst, before judges, before members of the Sanhedrin; 1a2) to place 1b) to make firm, fix establish 1b1) to cause a person or a thing to keep his or its place 1b2) to stand, be kept intact (of family, a kingdom), to escape in safety 1b3) to establish a thing, cause it to stand 1b31) to uphold or sustain the authority or force of anything 1c) to set or place in a balance 1c1) to weigh: money to one (because in very early times before the introduction of coinage, the metals used to be weighed) 2) to stand 2a) to stand by or near 2a1) to stop, stand still, to stand immovable, stand firm 2a1a) of the foundation of a building 2b) to stand 2b1) continue safe and sound, stand unharmed, to stand ready or prepared 2b2) to be of a steadfast mind 2b3) of quality, one who does not hesitate, does not waiver Origin:  a prolonged form of a primary stao {stah'-o} (of the same meaning, and used for it in certain tenses); TDNT - 7:638,1082; vUsage:  AV - stand 116, set 11, establish 5, stand still 4, stand by 3, misc 17, vr stand 2; 158 We then have a possibility that the abomination of desolation is an actual building. 13 "But as for you, go your way to the end; then you will enter into rest and rise again for your allotted portion at the end of the age." We can get the location of the abomination of desolation from verse 11, because it identifies the location as being where the regular sacrifice is. Therefore we are looking for a building built on top of the Temple.  The ‘Dome of the Rock’ was built on top of the temple, completed in 691AD. Its founding inscription was as follows:Founding Inscription Inside the building in classical Arabic is inscribed,  "O you People of the Book, overstep not bounds in your religion, and of God speak only the truth.  The Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, is only an apostle of God, and his Word which he conveyed unto Mary, and a Spirit proceeding from him.  Believe therefore in God and his apostles, and say not Three.  It will be better for you.  God is only one God.  Far be it from his glory that he should have a son."We can see from 1 John that the above is obviously from an antichrist spirit and therefore an abomination.1 John 2:22-23   Who is the liar but the one who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, the one who denies the Father and the Son.  23 Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father; the one who confesses the Son has the Father also. The next thing I noticed on scrutinizing Daniel 12 was that there could be a concealment in the translation. Verse 9 says the words were to be concealed and sealed up until the end time  Daniel 12:9-13   He said, "Go your way, Daniel, for these words are concealed and sealed up until the end time. 13 "But as for you, go your way to the end; then you will enter into rest and rise again for your allotted portion at the end of the age." It says that from when the abomination of desolation is set up there will be 1,290 days.  12 "How blessed is he who keeps waiting and attains to the 1,335 days! That gives us a date for the end of 694-695ad. Well that wasn’t correct!!! Again I scrutinized the word ‘ days’ the Hebrew word is Yowm, but it can be translated as ‘Year’. In fact it has been translated as year 14 times according to strongs below:  3117 ~Ay yowm {yome} Meaning:  1) day, time, year 1a) day (as opposed to night) 1b) day (24 hour period) 1b1) as defined by evening and morning in Genesis 1 1b2) as a division of time 1b2a) a working day, a day's journey 1c) days, lifetime (pl.) 1d) time, period (general) 1e) year 1f) temporal references 1f1) today 1f2) yesterday 1f3) tomorrow Origin:  from an unused root meaning to be hot; TWOT - 852; n mUsage:  AV - day 2008, time 64, chronicles + 01697 37, daily 32, ever 17, year 14, continually 10, when 10, as 10, while 8, full 8 always 4, whole 4, alway 4, misc 44; 2274 Now adding the 691 to 1290 we get 1981And adding the 691 to 1335 we get  2026 This would suggest that the end period is from 1981 until 2026. I asked someone in my church to go on the internet and find out if anything significant happened in 1981 and he told me that it was the start of the ‘Aids epidemic’. Interesting. 1 Thessalonians 5:1-9  But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.  2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.  3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.  4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.  5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.  6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.  7 For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.  8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.  9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, It is obviously important to the Lord, that the day does not overtake us as a thief, and that we should watch and be sober.  Please let me have your thoughts.Kind regardsMartin  This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
